Illini Swim Camp
Overview
Illinois Swim Camp will focus on all four strokes, with different approaches and modalities for athletes to maximize their individual, and team’s, ability to train and race at an elite level. Athletes will have the opportunity to train, explore, and learn in the water, through video analysis, and on land. Swim practices will be two hours, with dryland sessions lasting up to one and half hours. The focus of dryland will be based in cooperation and team coordination to help encourage and foster bonding experiences. From the energetic coaches from the University of Illinois to the enthusiasm of the Varsity athletes that will accompany us, each athlete will receive instruction and practice skills/tips/tricks appropriate for their ability. Between training sessions, teams will take part in several educational discussions including Sports Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Leadership and Team Culture, and Mental Health Awareness/Sports Psychology. Athletes will also have the opportunity to explore campus, and shops through a structured tour.
